He also represented Talbot Theological Seminary as a faculty member from 1966 to 1969. On February 9, 1969, he became the third and youngest pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, a nondenominational church.
The media team at Grace produced MacArthur’s daily radio and TV program, Grace to You, which is now broadcast worldwide. It started in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1977.
In 1985, MacArthur became the President of Los Angeles Baptist College, now known as The Master’s University, a four-year Christian liberal-arts college. He was also appointed President of the new Master’s Seminary in 1986.
On June 5, 2011, after over 43 years at Grace Community, MacArthur achieved a personal goal by preaching through the entire New Testament.
